I'll take this moment to be honest myself...Caleigh and I ended up going over the 4 letter words shown below, during the weekend. :)

Toddler -

Lesson: ABC's

Theme: Animals (where they live / sounds they make)

Language / Recognizing (listening & responding)

  • Make That Animal Sound (using toys around the house)

  • ABC's (flash cards) - start w/ A-G, recite that part of the song as you point to the letters, then ask, "touch A, touch G…"

Gross Motor (coordination, big movements

  • Animal puzzles

  • Animal homes (puzzle matching)

Music & Reading (to help give the mind a study break)

  • Sing & dance to the ABC's

  • Alphabet book

PreK -

Lesson: Word Play + Alphabet Sorting

Theme: Honesty & Friendship

Don't forget our words of the week: Deliberate / Combine

Language Arts & Writing

  • Building Words game (4 letters) - We are also introducing the vowels and the hard A & I sounds. Once they get through the first word, it tends to get easier for them. Point out that we are only changing the first letter, and many of the words rhyme. Once they are done, allow them some play time to rest their mind.

  • Compound word picture fun (we are reusing our compound word card from Tuesday)

Fine Motor

  • Connect the alphabet dots (worksheet)

Arts & Crafts

  • I Can Be Honest drawing - Ask them if they can make up or think of a time something happened that might have made them feel like they'd rather not be honest, but decided honesty was better. Then have them draw a picture of it.

Music & Reading (to help give the mind a study break)

  • Sing & dance to the ABC's

  • Friendship book (Fancy Nancy Tea For Two)

Creative Thinking

  • Search and find (Highlights magazine)

Enjoying Our Time Together - These lessons were built around us being more involved in our child’s learning, enjoying the extra bit of time we have with each other, and remembering that each day does have meaning. This is all meant to be educational and LOTS of fun!

Each week we are All-Stuck-Home, we'll have Lesson Plans and Themes for that week.
